As it stands on a hill overlooking the magnificent Mount Amiata, this extraordinary home boasts the greatest view in the whole Val d’Orcia.
Forests shield it to the east, and a garden, olive grove, and vineyard form its perimeter.
Beautiful countryside, villages, and hilltop residences may be seen from the farmhouse’s pool.
Seen as well is the “town” of Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The residence was first constructed in the 9th century to observe the valley’s pilgrimage path. The original structure of the residence was considerably expanded over the years, and up until the 1950s, it was home to a number of different families. For decades after that time period ended, nobody occupied the structure, and it gradually fell into disrepair. The present owner began a rebuilding effort in 1989 using authentic period materials, restoring the home to its former splendor.
Two single bedrooms, each with private bathroom, a laundry room, and a small guest bathroom are located on the main floor, in addition to a huge living room with a large fireplace, a dining room, a gourmet kitchen, a billiards room, and a guest bathroom.
The first level features a comfortable living area with a fireplace, as well as four bedrooms, each with its own attached bathroom (1 twin and 3 double). A compact, fully-stocked kitchen is also available.
There is a covered patio with a big table and two ovens outside, as well as a tiny restroom (one antique and one modern).
The panoramic swimming pool can be reached from the covered terrace or the lawn.
Each bedroom in the villa has its own private bathroom, and air conditioning is only available on the first level.
